Calling All Musicians For "The Hygienic Rock Lobster Band-O-Matic"!

Hygienic Art is looking for a few brave musicians to take part in an aural experiment worthy of our name sake annual show. THE ROCK LOBSTER BAND-O-MATIC will see up to five acts of five members each drawn together by lottery to form a band and perform just two weeks later at the closing party for HYGIENIC ART XXXIII at the Oasis Pub!

Here's how it works:

- Interested musicians will put their name in one of five categories: VOCALS, GUITAR, BASS, DRUMS and OTHER (meaning everything else: horns, ukulele, harp, keys, accordion, fiddle, banjo, etc)

- On January 28, we will pick up to five bands consisting of one draw from each category. the new crews will be announced at the Rock Fix at the Crocker House ballroom that night

- New bands will then have the next two weeks to get together to arrange and rehearse at least two songs (one cover & one original), name their band, and coordinate gear & outfits for the big show

- On Saturday, February 11, we will host the closing party for Hygienic Art XXXIII at the Oasis Pub where the bands will all perform their new songs for the masses

The deadline to sign-up for THE ROCK LOBSTER BAND-O-MATIC is January 25 at 8pm.

Musicians must commit to playing the show on February 11 at the Oasis and be prepared, flexible and creative between January 28-February 10 to help facilitate rehearsal in the New London county area with their newly discovered bandmates.
