Black Water Blessing
BWB formed back in 2008 and as of 2011 the band is still going strong. Playing countless shows with fellow CT "bro bands" has enabled BWB to carve out a niche and help rebuild the hardcore community in Eastern CT. In a scene where many bands come and go, BWB has remained a mainstay despite lineup changes, nonexistent funds, and inconsistent availability of venues. 2010 was an interesting year for the group, bringing home a Whalie Award for "Best Hardcore/Metal Performance," while losing their front man JP and guitarist, Austin, leaving indefinitely. The band, however, didn't lose a stride, recruiting an old friend and local hip-hop artist, Artie Bro, for vocal duties and focusing their energy on writing new material and getting kids on the floor everywhere they go. A new EP is due for a spring release, but in the meantime you can listen to the bands older material on their bandcamp page or pick up a copy of 2009's RAGER either at a show or downtown at The Telegraph
