New London based record label, run by Rich Martin.
Cosmodemonic Telegraph formed as an off-shoot of the long running independent small imprint Hozomeen Press, (publishers of books by Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, Casey Cyr, Black Pig Liberation Front, Ron Whitehead, Jordan Green, Ellis Death, Rich Freitas, Rich Martin and many others), in 2000 to release 'Tea at the Palaz of Hoon', a 2cd set featuring bands that had played at a small club run by the collective named T>A>Z, (the Temporary Autonomous Zone after the book and writings by Hakim Bey).
Since that time the label has focused on the home grown talent of New London Connecticut where it is based with releases from the Can Kickers, Quiet Life, Ringers, Low-Beam, Incognito Sofa Love, the Cavities and two 'Towers of New London' compilations (featuring many acts from the scene).

Gregory Bowerman is just completing his second year as a resident artist at the Hygienic Co-operative. As a full time oil painter, the Hygienic has allowed Greg the opportunity to explore his painting as well as become involved in the local community. Greg is currently the coordinating artist for the New London Main Street Mural project, in conjunction with the Drop In Learn Center, an after school program for 7 to 13 year olds. They are executing murals in downtown New London. Greg is also the coordinator for New London's 3rd Annual Open Studio Tour, featuring the talents of over 60 artists and musicians that work, live, and/or support the arts in Downtown New London. In addition he operates the Golden Street Gallery, a local gallery that promotes local and emerging artists. Greg is also a participating artist in the Urban Artist Initiative (UAI) a state wide program sponsored by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and the Department of Community Research.
Greg's paintings vary from realistic to abstract, focusing on utilizing color and form as a tool for developing concept and visual response. Greg enjoys painting visual responses based on literature, spirituality and self-reflection. His work has been included in juried exhibitions in Payersbach, Austria (hosted by Spiritual Artist Ernst Fuchs) and Dublin, Ireland. He has tackled subjects such as "The Celebration of Life" (displayed at the UCONN Health Center for 90 days) this double sided triptych stands seven feet tall and is eight feet wide when open. He has also made a series as a visual response to "The Epic of Gilgimesh" and his most recent body of work "Seduced by the Gods". Greg insists that his work is not illustrations or interpretations of the literature he refers to, however it is an individual visual response, depicting "How the stories made me feel as I read them."
Greg's work may me viewed at the "BRICK GALLERY", 10 Main Street, Essex, CT, New work every four weeks with a reception every third Thursday of the Month. His work may also be viewed in his work-in/live-in studio at 79 Bank Street, or in his portfolio at the Golden Street Gallery, 94 Golden Street, New London, CT. commissions accepted.
You may contact Greg by mail or e-mail, Greg has lived without a telephone in his studio for five years.

| Kat Murphy is one of the original co-op members at the Hygienic. Her artwork is focused mainly on encaustic and mixed media painting. After studying painting at Boston University for three years she decided to keep painting on her own and graduated with a BA in Spanish Language and Literature. She has studied in Spain, traveled in Mexico and Morocco and worked as a decorative painter and Interior designer in London, New York, Dallas, Boston, and local areas. Wherever she goes she has surrounded herself with a community of incredible people which she credits to enhancing her talents and creativity. Kat gives thumbs up to the Co-op and New London. |

Liz Larson has been exploring the many artistic possibilities of Downtown New London as a resident artist at The Hygienic Art Co-op for nearly five years. Having had her start as an art student with very high expectations, the prospect of a career in the arts has been a challenging and unpredictable one.
Seeking hands-on experience in the world of graphic arts, she first got into the screenprinting trade while living in Portland, Oregon. This experience led to a job as a sandblasting technician (using a photo emulsion process) for glass etching. When she moved back to Connecticut, sign painting came into the forefront, as she learned several techniques and applied her artistic knowledge doing work in sign shops and on her own as a designer for local businesses.
The desire to find a living situation most suitable for working in the arts is what led her to the community in New London and to the Hygienic in particular. Here, Liz has monitored and scheduled Life Drawing sessions and has participated in youth educational activities as a volunteer through Hygienic and other organizations such as Artworks of Norwich. She is also currently involved with the F.R.E.S.H. Community Garden of New London. Her goal now is to gradually become accredited toward a teaching career.
Earlier this year Liz was the recipient of the second place award at the Slater Memorial Museum's Connecticut Artists annual juried exhibition. Slater Museum is on the campus of her Alma Mater, The Norwich Free Academy, so this achievement was been a great honor for her.
She is also an active musician as well as a visual artist, and aspires to continue with this. She can be seen playing around town with such bands as Brazen Hussy, Dan & Liz and The Liz Larsons.
